New season, new year

Hey Ya'll! So I realize it's been awhile since I've been on here. My last post was from 2012! But in light of that, it's a new year and what better time then now, at the beginning of 2017, to start writing again? This blog is for me to have fun and share my thoughts with others. I'm going to try to post as frequently as possible (Which translates into whenever my mom lets me) about anything and everything!
I  think the biggest thing that happened recently is the play. The homeschool theater group I am a part of  did "Peter Pan" and "The Three Musketeers"a couple weeks ago. I'm was in "Peter Pan" as a lost boy and it was a really good show! This is the first year we used  a fly system and while I didn't  get to fly, it was still really cool!  While Tech week  is always super hectic, it's still my favorite part of the whole thing. There's something about wearing my costume for the first time and the bright lights that fills me with exhilaration! This was also my first show in the high school, so I think that is probably adding to the excitement too. We are now currently practicing for our next shows, "Oliver Twist" and "Anne of Green Gables". I'm in "Anne" as Mrs. Blewitt (Read the book to find out who that is). So far practices have gone well and I think this is going to be a great show!
To change the topic entirely, my birthday was Jan.14! I'm officially fourteen! I didn't have a party on my birthday because I was in Pennsylvania for a counselor training. I'm going to be a counselor at Mystic Mountain Training center, a camp I've been going to since I was six and I'm really looking forward to it!So I'm going to have a party  some time in the upcoming months. I've had a sleepover the last couple years, but this year, I'm going to shake things up. While I don't have a boyfriend (WAY too young for that!) I do have boy friends (Observe the space in between) and I want to be able to celebrate my birthday with them too. I'm thinking the guys and girls all go out and laser tag or skyzone, something like that, and then go out for pizza. Or maybe we'll skip going some where and just have a cookout at my house.I'm leaning towards that first idea though because there's not a whole lot of stuff you can do at my house with such a big group (Especially not indoors). That's all I've got for now, but look forward to more posts coming very soon!

The Christmas play

In a few weeks, there is going to be a Christmas play! And I am in it! I have lots of speaking parts, so does my sister, Alli. My name is Merry Christmas. It is a funny name, isn't it? The play is at my church. It will be the entire service. There will be a real dog in the play too! He is so cute! He is my friend's grandma's dog. His name is Murray. If you see the play, I think you will like it! And if you too far away you can see it on ustream, just click this link First Missionary Church Worship  The play is December 16 at 10:30am. I hope to see you there!

                                                                                                         T

Music

Today I am having my piano lesson. I hope I have practiced enough. I have been working on a Sonatina for a very long time. I have also started on a Christmas song. It is 'We wish you a Merry Christmas!' I love this song!  It is set to a jazzy beat in the book I am playing in. I think that when I grow up I will be a music composer. Maybe.  Well, that's all for now!

THE COIN

This story was a writing assignment for third grade language arts. T had to make up a history for a coin. Here is the result. Momma

My mother has a coin.  It looks like a flattened ball.  It is hard and very strong.  The coin is made of copper and aluminum.
Once a man named Philip got the coin for change when he bought a candy bar. Philip took the coin home and put it in a dresser.  One day Philip moved, but left the dresser there.
The coin stayed in the empty dresser and house for ten years.  Finally an astronaut named John moved in.  He found the coin and put it in his pocket. But when John went to the space center he forgot about the coin in his pocket.  He got his space suit on.  So the coin was in his pocket the whole time he was on the moon. When John got home he used the coin to buy a stick of gum.
That same day an old lady named Beth came to the store to buy vitamins.  She got the coin as change.  Beth used the coin to buy cookies at a bake sale my mom was running.  That's how the coin got to my mom.

                                                                   THE END

What I did in the Mountains

( We recently went on vacation in the mountains of east Tennessee.)

I went on two hikes. The views were magnificent! I also picked blueberries. Wild Ones! They were so good! We went swimming and saw tons of deer. We stayed in this really nice house that my pastor owns. If you looked off the porch you could see bunches of mountains. It was so beautiful!

The house, picking the blueberries, swimming and all of the views - These are the things I liked the best! I loved Tennessee!
